May is hot and humid in most places in India, distributed with the exception of the hill stations in India. So, get to the mountain stations and select one of them know.
But the northern regions of India are almost cold. In particular, in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. There are several places at high altitude in countries which are cool and comfortable. Personally, I prefer the scene in the region at this time as Chamba Dalhousie, Chamba, Khajjiar and Dharamshala, etc., but my personal preference.
